Growing Beetroot
Beetroot: Beetroots are a great source of fiber, folate (vitamin B9), manganese, potassium, iron, and vitamin C.
Sowing Season: Aug-Nov
Sunlight: Needs about 6 hours of sunlight and cool temperatures.
Potting Soil: soil, cocopeat, vermicompost can be mixed and used as potting soil.
HDPE Bag Size: 18”x12”, 15”x12” and 24”x12” can be used to grow beetroot. Rectangular bags with 12” height can also be used.
Spacing: needs 2 -3 inches distance between 2 plants.
Fertilizer: Use vermicompost, cowdung manure and other organic fertilizers at regular intervals.
Harvest: Can be harvested in 7-8 weeks.
Pest Control: Leaf miner is one of the common pests that attack beetroot and it can be controlled using Agni astra and other organic pesticides such as Neem oil.
